Change management and innovation systems development in Ethiopia The Ethiopian Agricultural Research organisation underwent major changes since 2004. PICO’s role was to facilitate key processes towards developing a more effective research system through introducing innovation system approaches in their work, through personal and team development to make the researchers more entrepreneurial and experimenting towards improving their systems and supporting in streamlining organisational systems and processes

A range of workshops and learning events were facilitated in addition to coaching and direct support to the leadership. The work yielded impressive impacts with more than 120,000 farmers directly being involved in a number of commodities and technologies. Later a common framework for innovation and agricultural service delivery was developed with the different actors in the agricultural system.
