Experiences in AFRICA
| Change management and services development in the Cooperative College in Moshi, Tanzania | Through a series of trainings and coaching sessions from 1996 onwards, an organisational development process was initiated and implemented in order to transform the college from a bureaucratic organisation to a modern, partly self-financed service provider. Since 2003, the support is in the framework of an IFAD-INWENT programme to strengthen IFAD’s capacities in implementing large-scale programmes. Presently we are building teams of facilitators who are supporting the District managers in terms of community mobilisation and improving service delivery. Since 2003, 10 missions to facilitate and support the process have been carried out: 12/1996: Three-week learning workshop on participatory working and training approaches in the 'Cooperative College' in Moshi/Tanzania. DSE/ZEL (German Foundation for International Development) 12/1998: Second, two-week learning workshop on participatory approaches and organisational development in the 'Cooperative College' in Moshi/Tanzania.
